Luxury Apartments Slated to Offer Dog Concierge Service

New Yorkers are renowned for sending their kids to some of the world’s most elite daycares, so it comes without surprise that those with cherished family pets are placing their dogs or cats under similar supervision. The growth of pet concierge service is even starting to sprout up in Manhattan apartment buildings, where pet owners can take advantage of doggy daycares in their own home residence.
After failing to find a dog care service that met his own standards, former NFL player, Mitch Marrow, launched The Spot Experience in 2011. As of now, there are 6 locations throughout New York City and Westchester, and the company just inked a deal to bring pet concierge service to 56 apartment buildings in Manhattan.
The Spot Experience is unique from other pet daycares, in that clients are provided with the ability to watch their pets throughout the entire day. While surveillance camera access in other facilities is usually limited and low quality, these cameras offer high-resolution images of what the dogs are up to. Every pet is on camera 24 hours a day, and an owner can simply view their dog through an online account, or via smart phone.
Luxury apartment buildings including Millennium Tower on the Upper West Side, and developers like Rose Associates Management, are teaming up with Marrow to offer dog-watching services. Success with their surveillance model is also prompting The Spot Experience to expand to Chicago, Boston, and Washington D.C. within the next year.
