Zaha Hadid's $50,000,000 Penthouse

520 West 28th St
You can now finally live in the first and last New York City residential building designed by late starchitect, Zaha Hadid. We recently discussed Hadid’s legacy since she passed almost 3 months ago of a sudden heart attack. And now, her astounding curved-glass building at 520 West 28th Street—which is expected to be completed at the end of this year—is on the market, with the priciest penthouse Hadid has ever designed.
Hadid breaks her own personal record with this 9-bedroom penthouse that is asking for $50 million. The triplex home includes multiple balconies, a great room with a fireplace, and a wet bar. The building will also allow all residents to have access to its private IMAX theatre, private parking, and a 75-foot sky lit pool. With interlaced floors, looping windows, and a strikingly sleek aesthetic, resident’s feel like they’re getting a taste of the future with Hadid’s creation.
There are 39 units available in the beautiful 11 floor building, each complete with Hadid signature swoops and curves, including its own jutting pod like balcony, and the architect's iconic staircase. Hadid was part of every facet of the building’s design, her work within the home is evident, with the exterior's dynamic form matching the interior.
Although Hadid will not be here to witness her first project in NYC, she was able to make her mark on the city with a breathtaking design–and with her other designs all over world—which are left to inspire the future of architecture.
