Elegran's 10 Biggest Sales of 2017

2017 was a tremendous year for Elegran agents, who closed major deals throughout every corner of NYC. There's far too many to fit into just one blog post, so instead here are 10 of the biggest sales Elegran agents closed in 2017.

10. 55 West 17th Street, Apartment 405

In October, agents David Ghoneim and Vincent Pergola sold apartment 405 in 55 West 17th Street for $2,520,000. This full-service condominium is located in Flatiron, one of the most interesting small neighborhoods in Manhattan that is known for having the charms of Chelsea paired with the fast-paced vibe of Midtown.

The homes inside this elegant building with a Danish white brick facade are spacious and feature open floor plans while the building includes a landscaped outdoor terrace, 24-hour attended lobby, and modern fitness center and more. This is just one of the two major deals Elegran agents sold in this stunning building. 

9. 101 Wall Street, Apartment 8-B

101 Wall Street is a gorgeous collection of condos in the Financial District designed by internationally renowned Dutch designer Piet Boon. The interiors mirror the building’s Art Deco past and feature oversized windows, wide-plank herringbone floors, Bosch appliances, and other elegant features.

Agent Christa Chi sold a $2,525,000 home in this beautiful building earlier this year, where residents can enjoy a private training studio, sauna, golf simulator, and a landscaped roof terrace with stunning skyline and East River views.


8. 2 River Terrace, Apartment 4-S

The Riverhouse in Battery Park City offers New Yorkers the unique opportunity to experience waterfront living in an urban environment. Many of the homes in the Riverhouse feature gorgeous river views that you can take in while gazing out of floor-to-ceiling windows. Two of the biggest deals Elegran represented in 2017 were in this popular Manhattan building.

In July, agent Andrew DiDomenico sold apartment 4-S in the Riverhouse for $2,790,000. This home features unique bamboo floors throughout, marble en-suite bathrooms, and European Energy Star appliances by Thermador, Sub-Zero, Miele and Bosch.


7. 5 Franklin Place, Apartment 9-A

Franklin Place is a prime example of Lower Manhattan luxury, located in the heart of Tribeca. This sleek, modern building features a landscaped roof deck with a pool and cabanas, a fitness center, a children’s playroom, and apartments with oak hardwood floors and Bosch and SubZero appliances.

This October, Chris Fry sold a $3,700,000 home in 5 Franklin Place. This home, like others in the building, is filled with features that pay homage to the famous lofts of Downtown Manhattan. It also includes bathrooms with imported marble, Poggenpohl cabinetry, and access to all of the fabulous dining and shopping options Tribeca has to offer.

6. 2 River Terrace, Apartment 24-D

Elegran agents closed two major deals in this Battery Park City building this year, which features a lap pool, media cafe, state-of-the-art fitness center, a billiards room, 24-hour concierge and doorman, and more. Battery Park City is just a short walk to Downtown Manhattan and is rapidly becoming one of the most exciting places to live in NYC, as luxury buildings continue to be developed in the neighborhood.

In March, agent Elisabeth Mohlmann sold a 4,350,000 home in The Riverhouse, a truly spectacular three-bedroom space. Apartment 24-D features floor-to-ceiling windows that flood the living room with light and provide beautiful views of the river and the Statue of Liberty. It also includes en-suite bathrooms in each bedroom and a suite of top-of-the-line kitchen appliances.

5. 19 East 88th Street, Penthouse D

Property values in Carnegie Hill seem to always be on the rise. Home prices have increased by more than 30 percent in the past five years as people continue to flock to this tree-lined luxury neighborhood that offers a wide selection of brownstones and townhouses as well as fast midtown access.

Agent Kevin Huang sold a 4,500,000 penthouse in 19 East 88th Street in Carnegie Hill this past may. This full-service building was designed with Art Deco features and offers residents the services of a 24-hour doorman, porters, and a landscaped roof deck.

4. 58 Downing Street

The West Village is often considered to be a charming oasis right in the middle of NYC. This neighborhood is some to some of the most beautiful brownstones, pre-war homes, and buildings in the entire city, and 58 Downing Street is no exception. Earlier this year, agent Chris Fry sold this 3-bedroom, 3-bathroom home for $5,430,000.

This truly remarkable home features 5 fireplaces, a formal sitting room and dining room, a chef’s kitchen with SubZero and Viking appliances, and a media room and guest suite on the third floor.


3. 2166 Broadway, Penthouse

The Opera at 2166 Broadway is a prominent part of the Upper West Side skyline. This lovely building holds 113 apartments and is just a short walk from Central Park and the Natural History Museum. It was originally a church and a hotel and it maintains many of its historic charms to this day.

This October, agents Nick Anable and Seth Podell sold the penthouse in The Opera for $7,950.000. Along with its great location and rich history, this home boasts terraces that provide residents with city views, a full-time doorman, an outdoor entertainment area, a fitness center, and more.

2. 147 East 63rd Street

Lenox Hill has been experiencing a renaissance in the past few years, as the addition of the Second Avenue subway line makes it easier than ever for New Yorkers to commute to and from this quiet neighborhood. As the popularity of Lenox Hill grows, so have the prices of its homes, and those looking to purchase in this neighborhood should act fast.

1. 55 West 17th Street, Penthouse 1801

As mentioned earlier in this post, 55 West 17th Street is the epitome of everything that’s beautiful about Downtown Manhattan.
