The Chef of The Century Prepares to Open New NYC Restaurant at 100 East 53rd Street

The “Chef of the Century” is set to open another restaurant in New York, in one of the most exciting new Manhattan luxury residential buildings.
Chef Joël Robuchon is the proud holder of 32 Michelin stars, the largest number held by any chef worldwide. He currently has restaurants in 11 different countries and his latest venture is to open another one in NYC. His current NYC restaurants include Le Grill de Joël Robuchon, an elegant yet approachable restaurant located in the front of his famed L’Atelier at 85 10th Ave.
Mr. Robuchon will be opening a two-story emporium at 100 East 53rd Street, which will form part of Aby Rosen’s new 94-unit ultra-luxury condominium project in Midtown. The second floor will be a new fine dining concept from Mr. Robuchon known as the Joël Robuchon Restaurant, while the first floor will be a more casual dining option.
Rosen, the co-founder of RFR Holding knows the value of having a top chef involved in his projects. The investor owns several important Manhattan properties, four of which house restaurants voted favorites on the Bloomberg Terminal Poll. These include the Lobster Club, Le Coucou, and the Pool, and The Grill.
Rosen is confident that the inclusion of the restaurant will guarantee a sell out on the project valued at over $867 million. Some believe it could still be a tough sell to potential buyers, as while the artistic project boasts fantastic views, it has suffered from delays during construction and the slow sales may be attributed to it being stuck between a row of office towers. Successful or not, New Yorkers will be gaining another world-class restaurant to delight their pallets and may find themselves dining with George and Amal Clooney, or Cindy Crawford, who have already purchased apartments in the building.
