North of the vibrancy of Chelsea and west of the hustle and bustle of Midtown sits the newly created, largest planned development project in U.S. history. Hudson Yards’ 16 skyscrapers and millions of square feet of new office, residential, and retail space will populate the neighborhood, which spans 26 to 28 acres on the Hudson River waterfront. These high-rises are built on platforms over currently functioning railways, making it an engineering and technological feat unseen in the modern era. More than ten years in the making, this master-planned, mixed-use community is seen as a mini-city.
Hudson Yards will include thousands of luxury unit apartments upon completion, along with numerous office and retail space. New shops and restaurants are set to welcome customers continuously over the next few years, with Phase 1 of the construction project expecting to bring in 100 shops and 20 restaurants into an upscale 7-story mall. While Hudson Yards is only a few blocks from Penn Station, it is served by its own 7-line subway station. And if these perks weren’t enough, a section of The High Line wraps around the entire neighborhood. Hudson Yards is the newest and most anticipated project in the ever-growing New York City.
