Taking up the western side of Long Island on the border of Queens, Nassau County is the most densely populated county you’ll find outside of New York City. With such proximity to the city and boasting extensive public transit and highway connections to and from, it’s an ideal location for commuters who want to be within a convenient distance of Manhattan without leaving the cityscape behind.
It might be outside of NYC but the culture in Nassau County can be summed up in two words: Museum Row. This must-see destination includes some of Long Island's best museums, including the Long Island Children's Museum and Cradle of Aviation Museum. Americana Manhasset has been called the Rodeo Drive of the East Coast, featuring over 60 international boutiques, while Long Beach has been referred to as the Riviera of the East. Sites like Old Westbury Gardens, Sands Point Park and Preserve, and Jones Beach State Park mean there’s always an outdoor adventure nearby.
